|Beautiful, sweet 3 year old Sheppard mix. Survived as a free roaming street dog her entire life. She lived on a Navajo reservation and is well socialized with dogs of all temperaments and submissive to all people. Extremely smart and has adapted well to living indoors. Well house trained, is a polite dog with good manners. Walks well on lead, responds immediately to corrections and remembers rules. Sauvin is still shy and sometimes fearful in certain situations. Though she never displays any aggression with either people or animals, she will try to retreat to a safe space when triggered. When she is unable to retreat (vet office, car, etc.) she will behave submissively.
We are looking for a foster or foster to adopt who would be sensitive in helping Sauvin work through this transformation. We would love for her to have a human(s)/family with time and patience to help her blossom. She has much to learn about the joys of living a dog's life now that survival alone, is no longer her priority. The rewards of teaching a rescue are tremendous. The bond that you will create with a rescue is stronger than you might imagine. Though, she has a few hurdles, Sauvin is practically the perfect dog in every other category. With a little time, Sauvin will be the envy of the dog community.
Spayed, current on all vaccinaions, rabies dewormed, microchipped.
